Sandringham College was very excited to receive a visit from the Premier, The Hon Dr. Denis Napthine on Monday October 13th 2014. The Premier, Minister for Education Martin Dixon and our local MLA Murray Thompson, attended the Beaumaris Campus with MCC President Paul Sheahan to announce a $13 million dollar investment with Sandringham College.
Prior to the announcement the Premier and official party had a tour of the Beaumaris Campus and expressed that they were impressed by our programs on offer and by what we have achieved so far in our Science and Sports Academies.
Sandringham College is extremely excited by this announcement, not only at the prospect of the facility upgrades across all sites, but particularly with the opportunity to partner with the MCC to further enhance the excellent academic programs we run at our College. It represents a fantastic opportunity for hundreds of students in our area.
A group of Year 7 students from the Sandy 7-10 Campus were treated to an hour of entertainment when they attended a talk given by well known YA author Derek Landy. Landy is the author of the popular Skulduggery Pleasant series. A big thank-you to ULYSSES BOOKSTORE in Sandringham for organising the event and the tickets.
Sandringham College students have had an amazing time in Bali. Such a great opportunity for students to speak Indonesian and visit another culture. I’m sure there will be many stories to tell on their return. Thanks to Mrs Russell and Mr McGowan for accompanying the students on a fantastic adventure.
