VET Art Exhibition

Last Wednesday the VET Visual Art students put on an impressive show in the theatre foyer gallery, displaying their 2-d projects as part of the VET music night. The work looked great, ranging in concepts exploring portraiture and identity to personal expressions on cultural issues. Students were influenced by research into an artist of their choice.

It was a rewarding experience having a gallery full of students, parents and teachers to experience the students creative endeavours. The work will be on display for another 2 weeks. Congratulations to all the students involved!

The VET Acting class were thrilled to have ex-student and “Winners & Losers” star Damien Bodie visit as a guest speaker today.

He was an inspirational speaker and gave great insight into the acting industry.

The class enjoyed hearing his stories and participating in some improvisational activities.

We are so proud of him and his achievements. We really appreciate him taking the time to visit us.

Year 12 Top Arts and Galleries Tour

Yesterday the Year 12 Art and Studio Arts Drawing and Photography students visited the Top Arts Exhibition. Displayed at the NGV Studio, Federation Square, Top Arts is an annual event which showcases around 50 of the top artworks and folios from across the state. As part of our excursion we viewed the folios supporting the works exhibited as well as an informative lecture which gave us insightful information about the ideas and themes behind the artworks.IMG_7262
