Thanks to Bayside Council Youth Services who have held this popular event for the 12th Year. Congratulations to the many talented Sandringham Arts/ Technology students whose work was exhibited and those who attended on Wednesday night to receive their certificates.
Special congratulations to Conner Goudie of Yr 11 who received the People’s choice award, for the second year in a row! A sensational effort!
This morning Yr 8 students enjoyed a delicious BBQ breakfast expertly cooked by Mr Wegner and Wilko and served by the Form teachers. A great way to start the day!
A very successful day of fun medieval activities based on music, costume, games and warfare!
Some delicious ‘Pop Art’ food sculptures were whipped up today by the Year 10 Ceramics class. After drying and firing they will be finished off with colour glaze.
Recently, the yr. 10 class ventured out into the local community to visit Bronsart, the studio of local Ceramic artist Bronwen Lewis whose distinctive ceramic characters have been exhibited at such venues as the local, ‘Without Pier Gallery’ and ‘Manyung Gallery’ in Mt Eliza. Students had the opportunity to hear Bronwen speak about her work, explore her teaching space in Bay Road, where she runs group classes and then create a clay masterpiece of their own.
Our second studio visit was coupled with a tour of the Senior Campus Visual Art and Technology areas which allowed year 10 students to see our talented VCE students hard at work in the various study areas.
We were very fortunate to have a presentation by resident artist, the sculptor, Martin Moore who trained in the UK and who has worked extensively in ceramic, bronze, glass and timber. His work can be seen in numerous locations such as Canberra, Werribee Zoo and Fitzroy Gardens.
Our thanks go to VCE Visual Arts teacher, Mandy Moyle, for being our tour guide and Martin Moore, for sharing his amazing work with us.
Here are some photos of recent work byYear 9 and 10 Ceramics students at Sandy 7-10.
