Year 12 Visual Arts Big Day Out

On Friday all the Year 12 Visual Art students met in the city for a tour of the current exhibitions on display at the National Gallery of Victoria. Getting out of our sheltered nests at school and breathing the crisp atmosphere of the city we found our minds racing, our eyes attuning to the visual feast of Melbourne’s hub.

We had a fantastic time soaking up the striking photographs of Jeff Wall and the cunningly deceptive  prints by Thomas Demand. We also browsed the Contemporary Australian Art and Indonesian Art exhibits which were jam packed with thought-provoking artworks to set our imaginations and critical minds alight.  Now its back to the studio to whip up some masterpieces!
