On Thursday 24th of May, Year 12 music students Georgia, Nick, Darcey, Ellie and Chris ran their first morning drive time radio program as a part of the Southern FM “Skoolz IN” program. We all gathered at the station at 6.30am to set up for the show and at 7am we went on air for the very first time. Lead by experienced radio announcer Georgia (who has a regular show on Syn FM 90.7 wednesday nights at 7pm) we kicked off our all Aussie show. We featured the Bee Gees in tribute to the tragic loss of Robin Gibb last week, profiled local musical talent as well as playing the debut single “Forest” from Sandringham’s own “Yesterdays Bread”. The show was a HUGE SUCCESS and i would like to congratulate all the students involved. You did an amazing job and the comments that have been fed to me from some of the listening public as well as the members of southern fm, was that you presented a very entertaining, enjoyable and professional show. Well done!
